We are delighted to announce a comprehensive institutional transformation, marking a significant milestone in our journey and reinforcing our position as the country’s leading psychology-focused higher education institution.

Strategic transformation reflects major developments in governance and strategic direction aimed at operational excellence and financial strength, laying the foundation for a bold new era of growth and innovation under the banner of CIRP 2030.

At the heart of this transformation is an ambitious and inclusive vision that places students at the center of every decision. Built upon extensive consultation with students, alumni, staff, and community stakeholders, CIRP 2030 reaffirms the institution’s commitment to academic excellence, impactful research, capacity building, and the development of globally employable graduates.

The newly constituted Governing Council unveiled the strategic roadmap last week, outlining a series of reforms designed to modernize and strengthen the institution. As the only psychology-specific higher education organization in the South Asian region, CIRP aims to further enhance its contribution to both the discipline of psychology and the broader development of Sri Lanka’s private higher education sector.

Backed by the financial strength of Relief Holdings, the diverse expertise of its leadership team, the continued support of the University of Greater Manchester, and a legacy spanning more than a decade as one of the most respected destinations for psychology education in Sri Lanka, we believe the transformation provides a powerful platform for future growth and innovation.

The multifaceted transformation encompasses integrated processes of continuous institutional change across every aspect of university operations. Reforms in policies, processes, people, practices, and institutional norms are being implemented to achieve greater alignment with the evolving demands of modern higher education and international best practices.

CIRP 2030 also focuses on transforming organizational culture in response to the changing expectations of new generations of students and the rapidly evolving global higher education landscape. The strategy seeks to balance international competitiveness with the institution’s responsibility to contribute meaningfully to society and national development.

Under the new leadership structure, the Governing Council comprises senior management, trustees, staff representatives, students, and alumni. This inclusive model ensures that the transformation remains a people-led initiative shaped by continuous stakeholder engagement and validated through ongoing feedback.

Several initiatives are already underway, including accelerated infrastructure development, the digitalization of student services, integration of emerging technologies into teaching and learning, and enhanced student engagement mechanisms. These improvements are expected to begin delivering tangible benefits to students and staff within the coming weeks.

We are working closely with our international university partners to ensure that students receive a truly global learning experience.

Our collaboration with University of Greater Manchester, UK is stronger than ever and several projects are underway to further expand the portfolio of courses under the partnership. We are proud of our collaboration with University of Greater Manchester, a leading British university with a history spanning more than 200 years. As a global institution with a presence across multiple countries, the University of Greater Manchester maintains rigorous quality assurance systems to ensure consistency in educational standards irrespective of whether students study in the United Kingdom, Sri Lanka, or elsewhere in the world.

In addition to its existing bachelor’s degree programs, CIRP will soon introduce the University’s Foundation Year in Psychology, marking the first time a British university foundation program in psychology will be offered in Sri Lanka. Further strengthening its academic portfolio, CIRP will launch a range of master’s degree programs in psychology this August, awarded by the University of Greater Manchester.

Under CIRP 2030, we have allocated more resources to develop the transfer degree programs with our transfer university partner in Australia and New Zealand, Edith Cowan University and Victoria University of Wellington, respectively. Study abroad division is also expected to develop further serving CIRP and external students who wish to study in international universities.

As We embarks on this next chapter, CIRP 2030 represents more than an institutional transformation to everyone at CIRP. It is a commitment to shaping the future of psychology education in Sri Lanka through academic excellence, international collaboration, innovation, and an unwavering focus on student success.
