Research
CIRP’s strong commitment to develop a research culture within its academic departments has led to many successful initiatives over the years. As pioneers in psychological research in Sri Lanka we have become cradle for many aspiring researchers who have contributed to the field.
ICAP Sri Lanka
International Conference in Applied Psychology (ICAP) Sri Lanka is one of the key achievements of CIRP in it’s research agenda. Organized by CIRP annually since 2014, ICAP Sri Lanka is considered the biggest psychology related international event in South Asia. ICAP has had the privilege of having hosted prestigious and world leading key note speakers such as Prof. Marting Seligman, one the most respected psychologists in the world and credited as the father of positive psychology.
Student Lead Research
Guiding students to conduct research in par with international scientific and ethical standards from a young age and providing them with opportunities to present their work in a professional manner is a key strategy of CIRP to identify, encourage and inspire the next generation of researchers. Student benefit from frequent student lead research symposiums that enhances their confidence, research skills and provide a platform to showcase their work.
Training by Experts
Encouraging young researchers to follow academic, ethical and scientific guidelines is vital to produce expert researchers. CIRP frequently organizes research workshops for staff and students by international experts in the field. Exposure to world class researchers and their research not only facilitates developing a research culture but also leads to cross cultural, collaborative research through networking.
Annual Research Awards
Recognizing and celebrating good work and rewarding them in appreciation of their hard work and contribution to the field is carried our each year. Selecting the Best Undergraduate, Best Postgraduate and Best Staff Researcher to be awarded at the graduation is done by a panel of internal and external researchers and judged on various aspects of research rigor and innovation.
